COVID-19 REPORTING FORM

COVID RAPID ANTIGEN TEST REPORTING F.A.Qs

When should I share my positive results?

Sharing your results is voluntary. We would like to hear about your rapid test result, positive or negative, as soon as you test. If that is not possible, we are collecting all test results from 2022, if you have an estimated date of when you took the test.

This helps the First Nations pandemic response coordination team get a true picture of what is happening with COVID-19 amongst First Nations citizens.

Where can I get rapid tests?

Rapid tests are free and available throughout Manitoba. Find a location near you here: https://www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/testing/locations.html

Check with your local Nursing Station or Health Center as they may have some available.

Why is it still important to test?

Knowing if you have COVID-19 will help stop the spread to others as you can take steps to self-isolate.

Early testing is key for treatments. Treatments are only helpful if used within 5-7 days of symptoms developing. Testing for COVID-19 can help you get the right treatments if you need them and are eligible.

Have you heard of long COVID?

There isn’t a lot of information about long COVID, but new research shows that 10-30% of those who got a COVID-19 infection experience long COVID symptoms. Symptoms include:

  • Fatigue

  • Shortness of Breath

  • Difficulty Breathing

  • Muscle Pain

There are some programs in Manitoba to help those experiencing long COVID symptoms, but to be considered for these programs, you must be able to demonstrate that you had COVID in the past. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, take a rapid test. The sooner you know, the better. Voluntarily share your COVID-19 results by calling 1-833-639-2068.
